About VMOU
VMOU (Vardhman Mahaveer Open University) was previously known as Kota Open University. It was established in 1987 as a pioneering institution for open learning in Rajasthan. VMOU headquarters is located in Kota and its jurisdiction is operational throughout Rajasthan. It is recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB). VMOU has 7 regional centres located in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur. Vardhman Mahaveer Open University will soon accept applications for all the ODL courses for the July session 2026. Students can access the registration form of INR 100/- (non-refundable) online on the university’s official website. Vardhman Mahaveer Open University offers admission to undergraduate courses like BLIS, BA, BS.c, Bachelor of Education, and Bachelor of Journalism. These courses are offered for a minimum course length of 3 years (6 semesters) and a maximum duration of 6 years (12 semesters). All UG courses at VMOU are recognized by the UGC-DEB for open and distance learning modes. VMOU admissions process will start soon from 1st July 20206 for all the postgraduate degree courses offered through ODL mode. Students will be able to access the application form of INR 100/- online on the university registration portal. Applications will be made available for postgraduate degree courses, such as MBA, Master of Arts, MCOM, and Master of Science with diverse specializations. The minimum duration of all UG programs at VMOU is 2 years (4 semesters), and the maximum is 4 years (8 semesters).
To get admission to any of the courses, students must hold a bachelor’s degree in any related discipline from a UGC recognized university and secure a minimum 50% mark in aggregate. Vardhman Mahaveer Open University does not conduct entrance exams nor have upper age restrictions for any PG program through distance mode. Eligibility Criteria for VMOU Admission
